Emily Solow, LCSW, LCASA
Clinical Therapist
Emily (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate, and clinical therapist at Bull City Anxiety & OCD Treatment Center. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she majored in Psychology and Sociology and returned to UNC to earn her Master of Social Work degree, officially making her a “Double Tar Heel!” (Don’t worry, she grew up with Duke fans and is happy to work with Blue Devil clients!)
Emily uses an eclectic approach, pulling from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), basic Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) skills, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). For individuals seeking OCD treatment, Emily utilizes ERP — the gold standard for OCD treatment — blended with ACT.
Emily takes a person-centered, strengths-based approach with clients. She believes therapy is truly a partnership and you are the expert on your own life. It is her aim to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for you to process thoughts, feelings, and experiences, while utilizing your inner strengths and developing healthy coping skills. Emily will support you in finding your personalized path to healing and building a meaningful, fulfilling life.
Emily is LGBTQIA+ affirming and works with folks from all backgrounds. She is especially passionate about supporting young adults working through OCD, anxiety, identity exploration, life transitions, and general life stressors.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys hiking, spending time with loved ones, snuggling with her furry family of two cats and a dog, and watching “just one more episode” on Netflix.
